Online Public survey
Social awareness and acceptance of Nature-based practices and prescriptions for health in Europe
As part of RESONATE, the Work Package 7 team is conducting a qualitative study based on a Europe-wide online survey to identify the factors that promote or hinder awareness and social acceptance of Nature-based Therapies in different contexts. Nature-based therapy can be described as a therapeutic approach that integrates elements of the natural environment into treatment to promote health and well-being. The results of this survey will form the basis for a report titled “Towards new cultural trajectories: Factors influencing awareness and societal acceptance of nature-based therapies” which is one of the expected outputs of the project and is intended to formulate recommendations that can improve future policies and practices on these therapies in Europe.
Why you should participate in this survey: You are kindly invited to take part in this survey because your opinions and views form how European society looks at nature-based therapies. Therefore they are highly valuable for formulating proper recommendations to improve policies and practices on nature-based therapies in Europe. Moreover, we hope that by participating in this survey you will be stimulated to reflect on human-nature relations.
Expected respondents: We need to reach out to participants from various sectors and diverse demographic, socio-cultural backgrounds who live in different geographical contexts across Europe. However, respondents from other regions of the world are also welcome to participate, if they are interested. We expect 18 years or older participants.
How it works: The survey is carried out under the coordination of Prof. Laura Secco and Dr. Aynur Mammadova, TESAF Department of the University of Padova, Italy. Other researchers are involved in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Austria, Spain, Sweden and Denmark. It’s available in 4 languages (English, Italian, Spanish, German). It will take approximately 25-30 minutes to finalize. If needed, you can “save and continue” later. Your participation is voluntary and anonymous, and you can skip any question you do not wish to answer. You will be asked a series of questions about yourself (but neither personal data such as name or contacts, nor sensitive data such as religious or political positions, are requested), your perceptions of nature and health-related behaviours, outcomes, barriers and enablers you see to have nature-based therapies applied in your country and/or across Europe. By completing the survey (use the link provided below), you indicate your consent to participate in the study.
Data protection: The data collected through this survey will be used only in aggregated forms and exclusively for research and dissemination purposes within the RESONATE project. The data will be treated in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation), Personal Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003 and following amendments) and the subsequent implementing measures adopted by the European Authorities and the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it; for more information, please visit: https://www.unipd.it/en/privacy). Full data collection and treatment protocol is approved by the Ethical Committee of the TESAF Dept. of the University of Padova. Please read carefully through it before participating in the survey. You can find it in this link.
