Introducing GreenME: Advancing Greencare in Europe

We are happy to present GreenME, one of RESONATE’s sister projects under the EU’s Horizon Europe programme. Launched in September 2023 and running for four years, GreenME is coordinated by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and brings together partners from six European countries, as well as the UK and the US.

At its core, GreenME aims to strengthen the role of nature-based therapies in building healthier, fairer, and more resilient communities. The project takes an integrated, multi-scalar approach, working across disciplines and regions to ensure that the benefits of greencare reach people from all walks of life.

Specifically, GreenME will:

  • Diagnose the current state of the provision of nature-based therapies, nature-based health promotions, and nature-in-everyday life.
  • Increase scientific evidence on the mental health and wellbeing benefits of exposure to nature, and
  • Empower green care actors.

Through this work, GreenME seeks to expand access to nature-based therapy and embed it into a comprehensive green care framework, promoting just, climate-resilient, and sustainable healthy communities.
