On a vibrant day in Barcelona, the Resilience Hub welcomed a diverse group of stakeholders for a dynamic meeting centred on collaboration, inspiration, and the advancement of the RESONATE Project. The gathering brought together professionals, practitioners, and innovators committed to exploring how nature-based therapies can become a cornerstone of urban wellbeing. What unfolded was an enriching exchange of ideas, visions, and actionable strategies that laid the foundation for a greener, healthier future for the city.

A Space for Shared Vision and Innovation

The meeting opened with an overview of the RESONATE Project and its focus on integrating Nature-Based Therapies (NBT) into urban health strategies. The Resilience Hub, a central element of the project, was introduced as a space for shared learning, dialogue, and innovation—providing fertile ground for cross-sector collaboration on urban challenges.

This initial session set the tone for a participatory and forward-looking day. Participants were grouped into three categories—general prevention, people at risk, and individuals with a diagnosis—to begin mapping existing NBT initiatives across the city. Through a structured brainstorming activity, each group explored what is currently in place and where there are gaps or opportunities for improvement.

Imagining the Future: MoodBoards and Shared Dreams

With a common understanding established, the focus shifted to envisioning the future. In the second activity of the day, participants created collective MoodBoards that captured their aspirations for Barcelona over the next three years. These visual collages expressed a shared desire to make nature more accessible and embedded in daily life—whether through restorative green spaces, therapeutic walking routes, or nature-integrated healthcare.

This creative process encouraged not just idea generation but deep reflection. Participants were asked to think beyond individual projects and consider systemic changes that would support the long-term integration of nature-based solutions in the urban landscape.

From Vision to Action: Concrete Proposals

The final activity translated vision into action. Working in interest-based groups, attendees returned to their MoodBoards with a new purpose: to design specific initiatives that could turn their collective dreams into real-world interventions. Two key themes guided this process—green and blue infrastructure, and education and awareness.

From proposals for nature-based education programs to strategies for enhancing riverside and park areas, the ideas were both ambitious and grounded in local needs. The session concluded with a sense of momentum and possibility, as participants laid the groundwork for future collaborations and interventions rooted in the principles of resilience and ecological health.

Moving Forward Together

The Resilience Hub meeting in Barcelona was more than a workshop—it was a call to action. By bringing together diverse voices to reflect, co-create, and plan, the event strengthened the foundation for a more resilient and nature-connected city. As the RESONATE Project continues to unfold, the ideas and connections seeded during this meeting will help shape its future path—one rooted in the healing power of nature and the strength of collective effort.
