Progress in Case Study 4 – Nature-Based Interventions in Padua
Case Study 4 (CS4) of the Resonate project, taking place in Padua, Italy, has successfully completed its first two waves of nature-based interventions — and the progress so far is promising.
A total of 86 participants were enrolled in the first (September–October 2024) and second (March–April 2025) intervention waves. Out of these, 68 participants completed all three on-site assessments: before the intervention, immediately after, and one month later — resulting in a dropout rate of 26%.
Participants in the treatment groups attended a 5-week program held in two selected urban parks in Padua. The control groups received the same intervention later, in June–July 2025, after their assessments were completed. Additionally, all groups were invited to a day in nature during the Cansiglio InVita Festival, where they joined a forest bathing session and other nature-based activities. In total, 35 people participated in this special event.
Recruitment for the third and final wave is currently underway. As of July 9th, 31 participants have enrolled. Based on the observed dropout rate, at least 15 more participants are expected to be recruited to reach the target of 44. The goal is to have at least 32 of them complete the third wave assessments and participate in the intervention scheduled from September 8th to October 10th, 2025.
This steady progress brings us closer to better understanding how repeated engagement with urban green spaces can support well-being and resilience. Stay tuned for the next update from CS4!
