Within the framework of WP7, on June 11, 2024, the 1st Preparatory Workshop of Padova Resilience Hub* was conducted as a kickstart for local Resilience Hub activities within the RESONATE Horizon Europe project and served as an example for similar workshops in Barcelona and Salzburg. Co-organized by the TESAF and DPG Departments of the University of Padova and Etifor Benefit Corporation, the workshop was attended by 14 key local stakeholders representing diverse sectors such as healthcare, research, local administration, urban green management, social services, civil society organizations (NGOs).
The main aim of this preparatory workshop was to engage a first group of key stakeholders with the project and its objectives, assess their interest in participating in the future development of the Resilience Hub in Padova and start a process of knowledge sharing on the topic of NBTs. The participants learned about the RESONATE project and the vision behind establishing three Resilience Hubs (Padova, Barcelona, and Salzburg) (WP7). They were also informed about the Padova Case study (4) on Examining Nature-based Therapies (NbT) effects on quality of life, well-being, allostatic load in people at risk of metabolic syndrome and managed to assess it in terms of the health equity assessment (framework provided by WP4).
The workshop, which was co-designed and facilitated by the Etifor team, entailed a mix of frontal presentations, Q&A sessions, world café discussions, data collection through questionnaires, networking, and informal discussions. The participants highly appreciated the efforts to bring the topic of nature-based therapies to the forefront and foster cross-sectoral collaborations to advance concrete actions and proposals within the frame of the Padova Resilience Hubs. The enthusiasm is high; we need to keep on with the good work!
* Resilience Hubs are cross-sectoral, multi-disciplinary, community-focused, physical (indoor or outdoor) and/or virtual creative space for designing, activating and maintaining social innovation actions based on continuous dialoguing of individuals and organisations interested in being involved within the local community about Nature-based Therapies, that seeks at supporting long-term resilience. In the context of RESONATE, it is understood as a network of actors (individuals and organisations) that engage in the design, development, test, implementation and maintenance of various types of activities, including events, seminars, experiential sessions, demonstrations, conferences, workshops, preparation of informative material and more, with the aim of promoting effective Nature-based Therapies and making them available to individuals, organisations and groups within their communities, thus contributing to community resilience.
